Green Mango and Pepper Fish Curry

Hi Friends,
This tangy and flavorful recipe mainly involves cooking fish of your choice in a green mango and pepper based gravy. I have always loved the combination of green mango or raw mango with fish, and the addition of kudampuli and pepper simply enhances the flavor of this dish. The addition of black pepper and green mango also have its own health benefits. Lets get on to the recipe.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Serves- 4

Fish-  1lb -cut into medium sized pieces
Onions- 1
Green chillies- 4
Green mango- cut into cubes- 1/2 half cup
Black Pepper powder- 1 tblspn
Peppercorns- 1/2 tspn
Kudampuli (Cocum)- 2-3
Ginger garlic paste- 1 tspn
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tspn
Curry leaves- 1 stem
Coriander powder- 2 tspn
Coconut oil- 2 tblspn
Coriander leaves - to garnish
Salt to taste

Method of Preparation
Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds and curry leaves to it.
When the mustard seeds splutter add the onions and green chillies and saute for 10 minutes till onion turns light brown in colour.
Add the ginger garlic paste, pepper powder, coriander powder, peppercorns and green mango and saute for 5 minutes.
Add the kudampuli with less than half cup of water and cook till the mixture starts to boil.
Now add the fish pieces, cover the lid and cook in medium heat till the fish is cooked.Add more water only if needed. You can always adjust the amount of pepper added just before turning off the heat.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
