Fish in Red Chilly and Tomato based gravy


Cooking time : 25 minutes

Serves : 4

Ingredients :

Fish - 1 lb

Onion - 1(finely chopped)

Tomato - 2

Garlic paste - 1 tspn

Ginger paste - 1 tspn
Red chilli powder- 2 tspn

Mustard seeds - 1 tspn

Curry leaves - 1 stem

Red chillies- 4

Tamarind pulp- 1 tblpsn

Vegetable oil - 1 tblspn

Method of preparation :

1.Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds, red chillies and curry leaves to it.When they splutter add the onions and tomatoes and saute for 5 minutes.Soak tamarind pulp in 1/2 cup of water and keep aside.

2.Add garlic paste, ginger paste,  tomatoes, chilli powder and salt and saute for 10 minutes.

3.Add tamarind water and cook for 5 minutes.

4.Add the fish pieces , some more curry leaves if needed and then and cook for 10 minutes till the gravy thickens.
