Whole Chicken in Spicy Indian masala

Hi All,
Its been a while since I have posted something on my blog.I am glad to be back my publisihing my 100th post.Hope you all enjoy this recipe!!!

Cooking time: 60 minutes

1 whole chicken-washed and cleaned
For the marinade
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Salt as needed
2 tbsps lime/ lemon juice
1tsps garlic paste
1 tsp ginger paste
For the gravy
Onion-6-7 medium sized-chopped
Tomatoe- 4
Extra virgin oilive oil- 2 tblspn
Green chlilles-6
Chilli powder- 1 tspn
Turmeric powder-1/2 tspn
Coriander powder- 1 tblspn
Garlic paste-1 1tspn
Salt as needed
Coriander leaves- 1cup finely chopped
Lime juice- 1tspn

Method of Preparation
Mix all the ingredients for the marinade in a large bowl and mix well. Put the whole chicken into this marinade . Cover the dish and marinate it for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
Heat oil in a pan and add the chopped onions, green chillies and onions to it.Saute it for 10-15 minutes, till the onion turns light brown in colur.Add garlic paste, chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt and saute it for 5 minutes.

Add the marinated chicken to this mix, add half cup of water and mix well.Cover with the lid and cook on medium heat till the chicken gets cooked.
Add limejuice, garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
This recipe tastes best with chappatis and parathas.
